Default starting area

im having a bit of trouble choosing which area to start off in...
i have prophicies and nightfall and im making a necro/[prolly mo for MM]
i like profices missions better then the nightfall ones... but the proficies starting area is slow and boring...
i could get a run to LA, get help with the nightfall quest , pick up heroes and start the ascalon quests with ease

nightfall missions i dont like as much... but its starting area is more interesting, i level faster, most quests seem to be closer together which is good, the enemies are higher level[ pro and con], farming for points to progress in the story is a little boring but i get heroes right away rather then waiting..

i know it comes down to personal preferance but any insight would be greatly appriciated

When you start from nightfall you will progress faster then in proph and get access to the other campaigns earlier imo then when you would start in proph.

just my 2 cents

It is also easier to get to Prophecies from Nightfall then vica versa. The Sunspears in Kryta quest is pretty difficult.

In the Nightfall campaign you can get sunspear skill, besides heroes, too.

I personally enjoyed the Nightfalls storyline better than Proph. Nightfalls is a bit more fast paced than Prophecies and you level faster due to higher quest rewards, etc. But feel free to bounce around, it's a huge world with plenty of things to do. You'll get come pretty cool MM skills in NF as well. Jagged Bones and Shambling Horrors are must-haves for any Minion Master.

One thing I (still) like about Prophecies are the numerous Skill reward quests available - is a great way to unlock a large number of skills for free(if you've not done so already with another char). Of course, if you're only interested in skills pertaining to a particular build, this probably won't matter to you .

I guess that if you're not in hurry and just want to play through the game, I'd maybe go with Proph, when you reach LA do as you said and visit NF for the heroes, then back to Proph.

Otherwise, if you want a quicker game (and buying most of your skills is not an issue) go with NF 1st, visit Proph when it becomes available (NF char's will pick up the Proph story line in LA).

Another option is if you can pick up the Eye of the North expansion at a cheap price - that way once you reach LA (with a Proph character) you can still get heroes (quest is alot easier than the Sunspears in Kryta one) and have access to higher lever critters and quests for more xp.

Either way, just go with whatever makes the game fun for you.

Cheers.

if you haven't played through any of the games yet, start in prophecies since it was the original

if you have played they before, start in NF since it is quicker.

i say start whit Proph its way better you will understand the game better nightfall is really boring but when ever you get to nightfall you will get lvl 15 heroes and it you start in nightfall i think they start as lv 2 and you will need to lvl them up, also nightfall requires you to get to a certain sunspear rank as a begginer and doing all that crap will get you bored of gw.

or try both , but i recomend to start as paragon or dervish.
5 main professions should start in Proph
